The good points of playing aerobics
What is aerobics?
Aerobic exercise is cardiovascular exercise, or cardio, that gets your heart pumping. During aerobic exercise, your blood pumps quickly throughout your body and your lungs take in more oxygen. The word aerobic means “with oxygen,” meaning that your breathing determines the amount of oxygen that gets to your muscles.
Have you ever danced with aerobics exercises?
I am pretty sure that most people have already heard of aerobics. But most of us haven’t played aerobics at all. So, let us talk about the fun and excitement and most importantly the result of playing aerobics.
A fun exercise
People tend to be lazier than normal when it comes to workouts and exercise. But people like to dance. Dancing can reduce a lot of stress in humans. So, this aerobics is highly recommended if you are a low-activity person and need to move around more.
It is such a fun exercise. We don’t need to follow the instructions exactly. But of course, we need to do it correctly. The most important thing is that aerobics is not difficult to do.
Aerobics exercises are mostly done with music/ songs in the background. We dance to the music and with a group of people. So, it is so refreshing since we are doing it with a community and not alone.
Most exercises are difficult and if we cannot do them exactly, we do not get the results we want. But aerobics are fun and not as difficult as the other workouts. Of course, we need to have a persistent mind though.
Having a community
Mostly, gym workouts or home workouts are done alone. Am I right or am I not wrong? So, we tend to get tired easily. At least, it is definitely difficult to start working out but is easy to end. As I mentioned above, aerobics are done within a community. Thus, we have support from people around us. Since we are doing with community, we get more energy and we don’t easily get tired.
Benefits of aerobics
Apart from the facts I mentioned above, there are such good benefits we get from playing aerobics activities. Below are some examples of health benefits.
- Improves cardiovascular conditioning.
- Decreases risk of heart disease.
- Lowers blood pressure.
- Increases HDL or “good” cholesterol.
- Helps to better control blood sugar.
- Assists in weight management and/or weight loss.
- Improves lung function.
- Decreases resting heart rate.
Other aerobics exercises
We all immediately see a group of people dancing to music in the gym hall when one mentions aerobics. But there are many other aerobics exercises.
- Using an elliptical trainer.
- Using an upper body ergometer (a piece of equipment that provides a cardiovascular workout that targets the upper body only).
Who should do aerobics?
Aerobic exercise reduces the risk of many conditions. These conditions include obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, stroke, and certain types of cancer. Weight-bearing aerobic exercises, such as walking, help lower the risk of osteoporosis.
But before you do, do not forget to discuss it with your doctor or health personnel. Please only do if your doctor allows you to.
I highly recommend aerobics exercise if you are a person who tends to get lazy easily. Believe me, you will want to continue this activity once you start.
